A few tested processes allow more than one canning method, each with its own schedule and operating requirements.

What to look for

Choose one complete tested method. Never combine the time, pressure, temperature, or cooling instructions from different methods.

Product options

Water-bath option: VEVOR 15-quart canner

A stainless-steel boiling-water canner supplied with racks. Use only for foods and tested processes that specify boiling-water canning, verify jar coverage and rack clearance, and apply the required altitude adjustment.

Pressure-canning option: Presto 23-quart pressure canner

A dial-gauge pressure canner for tested pressure-canning recipes. Confirm cooktop compatibility, maintain and test the gauge as directed, vent fully before pressurizing, and let the canner depressurize naturally.

Safe-use reminder

Equipment does not make an untested recipe safe. Use a current authoritative home-canning process that specifies the food, preparation, jar size, canner type, time or pressure, and altitude adjustment. Follow the equipment manufacturer’s current instructions.

Before you buy

  • Confirm compatibility with your jars, lids, cooktop, and tested process.
  • Check capacity, dimensions, replacement-part availability, and warranty terms.
