Explore by geography

Countries & regions.

Home canning developed differently across countries and regions. Geographic browsing helps compare traditions, terminology, equipment, publications, and testing authorities while preserving each recipe’s original source context.

What geographic metadata means

Origin and authority are not always the same thing.

A country or region may describe the recipe’s documented origin, the jurisdiction of a testing authority, the publication location, or a regional tradition. These relationships are preserved separately whenever the source supports that distinction.

Languages & translations

Original language and translation status are recorded where possible. Machine-translated material should be identified as such and reviewed before being treated as an authoritative interpretation.

Worldwide expansion

Countries are added as real source and recipe records are ingested rather than creating hundreds of empty archives. The long-term scope is worldwide home canning, not only English-language or North American guidance.
